Oil change for my car...

Well, the maintenance light was on on my dashboard yesterday. We believe it is time to get the oil changed. Last time we did it at the Lexus service dealer over Riverside. The cost was $75. We thought we should give the Jeffy Lube a try this time to see how much we can save.

There is one close to us over Corona. We called them up and confirmed the availability of the oil for my Lexus. The good thing is that the overall cost is 50% less than the service dealer. Immediately, we decided to do it over there.

At the shop, they asked us whether we want to use synthetic oil instead. I have never used the synthetic ones before but sounds like it is more efficient than the regular oil for the car and money. We went for the synthetic one, of cause the cost went up to $70. Still, it is less than the service dealer and oil is upgraded. We thought we got a good deal. Besides, Jeffy Lube has been around for a long time and for the name we believe we can trust.

Later in the evening, I did some research on the net, found that upgrading from the regular oil to synthetic oil my cause oil leak because the engine is not used to the high grade oil and the seal might got broken because the synthetic oil will wear off the old stain on the inside surface of the engine. It sounds a bit bothersome... Anyway, I believe I should keep an eye on the oil leaking issue for the next few days.
